Gerry W. Beyer, B.A., JD, LLM, JSD, joined the faculty of the Texas Tech University School of Law in June 2005 as the first holder of the Governor Preston E. Smith Regents Professorship after teaching since 1981 at law schools from coast to coast. As a state and nationally recognized expert in estate planning, he is a highly sought after lecturer, presenting each year before many state and local bar associations, universities, and civic groups. Prof. Beyer is the recipient of dozens of outstanding and distinguished faculty awards including the Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award, the most prestigious university-wide teaching award at Texas Tech. He was also the recipient of the 2012-2013 Outstanding Researcher Award from the Texas Tech School of Law. Prof. Beyer is the editor of the most popular estate planning blog in the nation and has authored and co-authored numerous books and articles focusing on various aspects of estate planning. He is a member of the Order of the Coif, an Academic Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and a member of the American Law Institute.

Thomas M. Brinker, Jr., CPA/PFS, ChFC, CFE, AEP is professor of accounting at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. He also serves as director of the domestic MBA program and chair of the School of Global Business. He graduated cum laude from Saint Joseph’s University in Accountancy, and holds Masters degrees in taxation and accounting from Widener University. In addition to earning his J.D., Professor Brinker earned an LL.M. in International Taxation from Regent University School of Law, where he received the distinction of “Outstanding Graduate” in his class. He presents nationally and internationally on various tax topics, and has published dozens of articles in numerous journals, including The Journal of Accountancy, The Journal of International Taxation, The Tax Adviser, The CPA Journal, The Journal of Practical Estate Planning, and The Journal of Financial Services Professionals.

James M. Frank, JD, LLM is an innovative wealth planning strategist with over 30 years of experience in business and personal estate and gift planning, primarily for high net worth individuals and families with closely-held business interests. Jim has helped clients accumulate, manage and plan for the distribution of wealth with multigenerational planning, charitable giving and planning for special needs children. He has worked with clients and their legal and tax advisors to implement individual and business financial plans. He also has experience in the design and operation of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans. Tony Martin, MBA, MTax, CFP, CLU, AIFA is a principal at M3 Advisors and Martin Financial Group, LLC.
