
Getman Appointed Chair of FSP Estate Planning Section

Newtown Square, PA - Terri L. Getman, JD, CLU, ChFC, of Plymouth, MN, has been named Chair of the Estate Planning Professional Interest Section for the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP). In this position, she is responsible for enhancing the overall value of the Section to FSP members.
Getman is vice president, Advanced Marketing for the Individual Life Insurance business at Prudential Financial. She served on the FSP national Board of Directors, and is currently serving on its Section Committee, Membership Committee and Young Professionals and Diversity Committee. She also is a member of the LIMRA Advanced Sales Committee and AALU Business, Estate and Charitable Planning Committee. She is a past president of the Society’s Des Moines Chapter and the Women’s Life Underwriters Conference of Des Moines.
A graduate of the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, VA, Getman earned a juris doctorate from Drake University School of Law in Des Moines and is a member of the Iowa Bar Association. Since law school, she has pursued a career in the financial services, having both worked as an agent and in the home office. She became a Chartered Financial Consultant in 1985 and a Chartered Life Underwriter in 1988.
Getman frequently speaks to industry groups and has co-founded a successful consulting firm heralded by Money magazine as “one of the most respected financial planning firms in the United States.”
FSP offers its members nine Professional Interest Sections: Business & Compensation Planning; Employee Benefits; Estate Planning; Financial Planning; Investment Management; Leadership and Management; Risk Management: Life, Health, Disability, Casualty & Liability Insurance; Qualified Plans; and Retirement Counseling. Participation in one Section is included in membership dues. Each Section provides a quarterly newsletter, an e-mail list discussion group, online search capabilities, access to a national directory of members, and access to targeted FSP educational events.
