ABEA PROGRAM SPONSORSHIP
The American Business Ethics Award program has been a hallmark of excellence in business ethics since it was first presented in 1994. The ABEA represents the highest standards of professionalism and ethical performance within the business community, among ethics professionals and academicians, as well as recognition by the general public. As the prestige of the award grows, more and more companies and the public are becoming aware of the significance that receiving this award carries both locally and nationally. The ABEA program, created by the Society of FSP is now administered by the Foundation for Financial Service Professionals.
Each year, the Foundation seeks a corporate sponsor for the national American Business Ethics Award program. Typically companies with a strong and long-standing commitment to business ethics step forward to sponsor the ABEA. The sponsor company is invited to participate in numerous activities and events associated with the programs. In addition, the Foundation acknowledges the sponsorship in numerous ways:
- All ABEA materials for the year prominently identify and acknowledge the sponsor-company.
- The ABEA awards are presented in a ceremony hosted by the Foundation at a venue to be determined each year. A senior executive of the sponsoring organization plays a key role in the ceremony. The ABEA sponsor-company is also acknowledged at the Financial Service Forum.
- A videotape of the awards ceremony is produced incorporating an introduction by the Foundation president, the message from the sponsor-company and vignettes of the award recipients’ speeches. A copy of the videotape is provided to the sponsor-company, the award recipients and other interested parties.
