The Society of Financial Service Professionals is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.learningmarket.org.
The Society offers programs at intermediate to advanced levels of continuing professional education. Although no pre-requisite course or advanced preparation is needed to participate in any program, knowledge of, or experience in, the program topic is required.

This one-hour course will provide instruction on Fully Insured Plans for the closely held business owner, under IRC Section 412(e)(3). It will describe what makes this plan unique, review issues surrounding these plans and demonstrate why these plans are an effective retirement planning program. The session will also review a case study, the impact of adding survivor benefits, and required administration and suitability.
Ernie Guerriero, CLU, ChFC, CEBS, CPCU, CPC is a director and head of qualified plan marketing for the Business Resource Center for Advanced Markets of the Guardian Life Insurance Company in New York. Ernie's main responsibilities in overseeing the department are to provide sales, marketing and technical support to the field, focusing on qualified retirement plans. Prior to joining Guardian he was the Regional Vice President of Sales for Aviva where he assisted CPA firms in practice management in integrating their tax preparation business to financial services and acting as a technical resource. Ernie also held officer roles at National Life Group and MONY (now Axa). Ernie is recognized for his expertise in the retirement planning industry, he has published articles in trade publications, including the Journal of Financial Service Professionals and the New York University Review of Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, he has appeared on The Wealth Channel and he is a speaker at professional industry group meetings on qualified plan design for small closely held business owners. He has taught for various colleges on employee benefits and is an insurance continuing education instructor with the Professional Insurance Agents of NY, NJ, and CT. Ernie is on the national board of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, he is also the treasurer for the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Society of FSP since 1988; he is a member of the Core Retirement Committee for AALU, member of the Fiduciary Standards Committee for the Society of FSP and Government Affairs Committee for the National Association of Plan Advisors.
