The Value of Limited Benefit Medical Insurance(August 20, 2008 Audio Conference)

The uninsured worker faces several challenges when it comes to obtaining medical insurance for him or herself as well for a spouse or child. Be it eligibility requirements or cost, there are often many reasons why major medical insurance is out of reach for the people who want coverage. One solution that helps to meet this growing population’s need is limited benefit medical insurance. Tim Adkisson, the Director of National Accounts for Symetra Financial, will be speaking about the value that limited benefit medical insurance brings to both the policyholder and the insured. Knowing about limited benefit medical insurance—and the population it serves—could be what gets an uninsured worker today into the doctor’s office next month.

By the end of the program you will:

  • Why “uninsured” does not equate to being unemployed

  • Why a certain segment of the working population does not currently have coverage

  • Why even temporary lapses in health insurance can be devastating

  • What, specifically, limited benefit medical insurance is and how it differs from “mini-med”

  • What a typical plan design looks like for a limited benefit medical insurance policy

  • How one would use the benefits provided by a limited benefit medical plan

  • How limited benefit medical plans can help even those workers with major medical insurance
