Program Overview
This program discusses the current views of Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT). It includes a discussion of how the financial services industry came to accept MPT and, more importantly, how those views have changed in the past year. Many of the key flaws or modifications to MPT that are topics of discussion today were observable before 2008. The core tenets of MPT are still valid, but advisors need to make important changes to the models in use today to allocate client assets going forward.
Attendees will:
- What tenets of MPT remain unchanged following the financial crisis of 2008
- Which changes should have been made prior to 2008
- What to do going forward
